Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique key case to celebrate the brand's centenary. It is made from Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes the flying "B" paperweight, keys, and a booklet featuring never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

It's a great present to greet a new owner of their lavish vehicle.

Aesthetics

As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. It shows in the precision position of its quilting, the selection of leather from by-products of cattle, the timber from forests that are sustainably managed and the ingenious patterns that are etched on its levers. As you approach a car like the Continental GT W12, its exquisite design is revealed through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever designed. The rear tonneau on the Continental GT, for instance was the largest piece ever made of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley is the most sought-after brand in the automotive industry in the world because of its distinctive design and workmanship. The company continues to push the boundaries using the most advanced technologies and craftsmanship. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear sunroof, as well as a custom-designed Apple iPad docking station.

A century since its founding, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership after years of conflict with BMW and BMW - celebrated its centennial in 2019. The company planned a range of special events and launches to mark the historic occasion before pandemic planning became a priority.

Design

Bentley is known as a luxury car manufacturer that makes ostentatious and luxurious cars. However, even the keys make a statement. The Bentayga Key is made of sterling silver with a large B' logo to inform everyone that you're driving a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019, to commemorate the company's centenary.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and developed by Bentley Mulliner to become the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats were designed to offer passengers unmatched comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxurious private aircraft. A customized heating, ventilation and air conditioning system has been designed to provide each passenger with the ideal temperature control.

In  replacement key for bentley continental gt  to a set of stylishly executed styling changes and a host of elegantly executed styling changes, the Mulsanne is powered by twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine that can produce 560bhp as well as 479lbft of torque. This incredible power is complemented by a brand new suspension system that provides Bentley's trademark smooth ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a custom-designed specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars that were built in 2019. The cabin is decorated with cross-stitching as well as contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered in Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a bespoke Bentley keycase to complete the Bentley experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key features buttons that open the trunk and another that turns on the car. It also has a switch that can switch on the parking break. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors when parked in a tight space. This feature can aid in getting in and out of your car more quickly.

Each key takes about two days to create. It is hand cut shape, sewn, sealed and polished to give an extremely high-end finish. It is small and sturdy, and it fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however it feels heavier and has a more premium feel.

It is also equipped with Secure-A-Key which prevents theft of keys with no key. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob. It disables it after a few minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design is a reflection of the values of the company that include high-quality craftsmanship, engineering expertise and cutting-edge technologies. More than 4,000 employees work at the Crewe headquarters, responsible for the design, development and production of Bentley automobiles. They employ skills that have been handed down for generations and apply them to the latest in automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their car. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. These can be anything from stunning views to sporting events. As each selection is made, a pattern emerges that reveals the models and colors of the personalized Bentley.

The configuration that is created is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys, which are presented to the guests in a hand-crafted key case. Keys can also be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps which light the door's opening path with the owner's name or emblem as they arrive at the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to build and construct the Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to embrace the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers do not make use of a machine to create perfectly-matched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors to guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spots, drivers have to do it manually.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization skills with a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays homage to William Osler, the founder of Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founding father of the brand, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars include keys that display the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
